We are in the midst of a sustainability crisis and a technological revolution and the economy and world of work are changing constantly. Faced with ever-fiercer competition, rapid advances in digitalisation and pressure for funding cuts, the higher education sector, too, must evolve. Research and education now need all the support they can get.

Why donate to university?

Did you know that about 60% of Aalto expenses are covered by the funds annually allocated by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, while 40% of funds are obtained from a variety of sources? Donations are a key element in ensuring the financial sustainability of the university. We cannot cut back on education and research because we need new specialists and innovations to solve grand global challenges.

At Aalto, we are developing solutions that make the world a better place for all of us. The students of today are the experts of tomorrow. Now is the time to prepare for the imminent skills shortage and make sure that our education gives our young people the tools they need to succeed. Doing so, we are also supporting Finland’s competitiveness and position in the world market.

Donations drive results

Research is a long-term effort, and however great, not all ideas lead to groundbreaking innovations. Experimental research and development work is time-consuming and therefore expensive, but even small donations help us forward. This is why we value donations of any size.
